Toshiyuki Okada
Introducing woodworking artist Toshiyuki Okada, born in Kawagoe and currently based in Kawashima Town.
During his student days specializing in lacquer, Okada simultaneously studied woodworking, eventually choosing the path of woodworking after graduation. Over the past decade, his experiments with gear-driven mechanisms have been particularly noteworthy. These works allow viewers to interact by touching the pieces, turning knobs, or gently shaking them to initiate movement. Featuring intricately designed components, they are integral to the artwork's composition.
This exhibition will showcase 12 pieces, including 9 new works.
