Tsuneo Enari + Ken Domon "Through the Eyes of Two - Hiroshima and Nagasaki"
In 1957, Ken Domon visited Hiroshima to photograph the devastation of the atomic bombing. Domon documented the victims who were still suffering from fresh wounds even 12 years after the war, as well as the scenes of severe surgery. A photographer in his early twenties at the time, Tsuneo Enari, was greatly influenced by this work. Enari entered Hiroshima for the first time in 1985, 40 years after the war, and has continued in-depth reporting and photography. Enari continues to reflect on how to photograph the "atomic bombing" and depicts artifacts and remains from the destroyed cities. Domon and Enari's images of the atomic bombing, taken at different times and using different techniques from different perspectives, appeal profoundly to the horror of the atomic bombing and the desire for peace.
