Vietnam: The Landscape of Memories

Fukuoka Asian Art Museum
Finished
The exhibition, opening on the 50th anniversary of the end of the Vietnam War, traces the history of turbulent times in the country. Through various works ranging from modern paintings depicting an ideal landscape of the homeland painted by Vietnamese artists to contemporary art redescribing history through unrevealed memories of the individuals, the show provides comprehension of images and memories that evolved around Vietnam. Furthermore, a special section provides an introduction to the conservation project of the works of Vietnamese artist Nguyen Phan Chanh, the great master of silk painting, founded by the MITANI Foundation for Protection of Cultural and Artistic Properties.
