Wish Less gallery is thrilled to announce the British artist Vinnie Nylon’s solo exhibition ‘Lifer‘. Vinnie has emerged as a graffiti writer in the 1980s and is known to have had a significant influence on many street artists, including Banksy. His pop and nostalgic style of freehand lines, mixing the old with the new, is admired not only by collectors but also by artists.
For this latest show at Wish Less Vinnie has created a fusion of many inspirations in painting, print and 3D. ‘Lifer’ promises vibrant colour combinations and hard edge graphic painting alongside more loose and thickly applied expressive areas.
In the potent mix you will find elements of ancient cultures and tribes, sharp angular abstraction and the raw nature of found materials used to construct masks or decorate wooden pots.
The future primitive figuration is very alive with dancing figures, totem poles and even 80s boom boxes laying down a pounding drum beat.
With his roots in street art and graffiti for more than three decades, Vinnie has moved easily into the gallery world over the last 12 years and continues to evolve his unique style.
