What to talk about, when we talk about us

"The weather is nice today"
If only we could talk about our pain, or others' pain as simply as saying that, maybe conversations would feel a little easier.
"What to talk about when we talk about us" is a project that takes a stand against the increasingly severe discrimination faced by transgender people in recent years.
Since 2021, we have been organizing exhibitions in Akita as spaces where people can safely talk about their own pain and the pain of others, as a way to also confront the harm we ourselves may cause.
In 2025, we will be holding an exhibition event in Ueno, Tokyo. It will bring together a wide range of expressions including paintings, sculptures, photographs, video works, as well as zines, books, knitting, games, and more. We hope it can become an exhibition where voices against all forms of discrimination can gather and resonate.
