隙間 presents the exhibition 「ENERGY CANNOT BE DESTROYED」by the London born graphic artist Will Sweeney.
Now based in Tokyo, Sweeney studied illustration at the Royal College of Art and has since developed a wide-ranging practice through collaborations with various fashion brands, musicians, comics, and animation projects. His work is defined by a meticulous and fantastical visual language influenced by science fiction, underground comics, and subcultural aesthetics.
For this exhibition「ENERGY CANNOT BE DESTROYED」, Sweeney presents a new body of work developed in response to the gallery’s inorganic architectural space, exploring a new color palette and experimental techniques. In addition to the artworks, the artist will reconstruct his personal studio within the space and work on-site throughout the exhibition period. A playlist curated by Sweeney will play continuously, inviting visitors to experience the deeper layers of inspiration embedded in his practice.
During the exhibition period, Sweeney will also host a collaborative “Draw Jam”, bringing together artists from his community through a live drawing performance.
