Vacant/Centre
Starts 4/24

Artists

Yoshihiro Shinjo
Shinjo Yoshihiro, a sculptor born in Fukuoka in 1951 and based in Chikugo City, has been active since the 1980s, presenting numerous exhibitions both in Japan and internationally. Working with wood of various sizes using chainsaws, axes, and chisels, his pieces bring together the natural grain and scars of the material with the traces of his own hand, drawing out both the rawness and delicacy inherent in wood, and radiating a powerful presence. This exhibition presents a selection of works produced over his long career across two venues in Yoyogi-Hachiman.
