Yujiro Ueno
Yujiro Ueno is an up-and-coming artist creating paintings with motifs of dragons, tigers, birds, and other creatures based on the idea of "chi" in Eastern thought.

Born and raised in Kyoto in 1996, Ueno entered Okinawa Prefectural University of Arts in 2015. By immersing himself in the different cultures of Kyoto and Okinawa, he has been able to incorporate various elements into his work, including Western art, which he was interested in before entering the university, the folding screen paintings he saw in Kyoto, and Asian art.

Based on the theory of Yin-Yang and the Five Elements of the Universe, which views all things in the universe as two opposing elements, "yin" and "yang," the exhibition titled "Clash of Two Spirits" will present new work, including multiple works that form a pair, using yin and yang as motifs.
