Since April 2022, the curatorial collective ∴(therefore) (Rio Usui, Aoi Kaida, and Keitaro Niwa) has been curating exhibitions for three days each month for 12 consecutive months at R for D, an apparel store in Shinsen. By holding exhibitions of young artists in an apparel store, the project explores the boundaries between contemporary art and other fields and attempts to discover the possibilities of a new exhibition format that differs from the traditional white cube exhibition.
The seventh exhibition curated by Keitaro Niwa focuses on the body with clothing as a starting point and features the works of two artists: Yukasa Narisada, who creates video installations and photographic work while specializing in architecture, and Mayo Murakami, who creates organic three-dimensional work that evokes physical elements.
