Yumeji Takehisa Exhibition

Yumeji Birthplace Memorial Museum・Shonensanso
Finished

Artists

Yumeji Takehisa
In the Yumeji Birthplace Memorial Museum, the room of Yumeji Takehisa's childhood is open to the public, and in the exhibition room converted from a storehouse, visitors can view Yumeji's hand-painted works and five seasonal festivals with a hometown theme, including "Evening Cool", a beautiful profile painting of a woman holding an uchiwa (Japanese fan).

In Shonen Sanso, Takehisa's life, design, and music are exhibited, and visitors can learn about his personality through photographs and his personal belongings. Visitors can view Yumeji's works as a designer, such as "Fujin-graph," and listen to music from Seno-o sheet music while viewing "Seno-o Sheet Music (Akatsuki)," as well as enjoy a hands-on corner where visitors can make their own tote bags.

Visitors can experience the origin of Yumeji's art and enjoy their stay at the Yumeji Birthplace Memorial Museum, a 250-year-old thatched-roof building where Yumeji was born and lived until the age of 16, and Shonen Sanso, a restored atelier and residence designed by Yumeji himself.
