For Spring 2026 project, mh PROJECT presents First Love: Homage to the “Factory Girls”* by Yuri Shimojo, a painter based in New York and Kyoto. This project marks her first research-based residency. In Ichinomiya, a city renowned for its textile heritage, Shimojo encounters, senses, and imagines the stories of female factory workers. Drawing from these narratives, she will create part of the work in collaboration with local residents, weaving together regional memory and atmosphere, and interlacing the past and present into a site-specific installation.
