The Container, as the name suggests, is no more than a shipping container (485x180x177cm), constructed inside Bross hair salon in trendy Nakameguro.
The Container will invite Japanese and international artists to make site-specific installations four times a year. Future exhibitions will see controversial Japanese art collective ChimPom and the American conceptual artist LG Williams. Unlike a “real” gallery, each installation will remain on view to the public for two and a half months.
