Kikuchi Kanjitsu Memorial Tomo Museum (commonly referred to as Musée Tomo or Tomo Museum) was established in 2003. The founding collection of ceramics was selected by the founder, KIKUCHI Tomo, (1923-2016) who passionately collected contemporary ceramics. Since opening, the museum has been dedicated to presenting Japanese contemporary ceramics in an exhibition space that was designed specifically for visitors to observe ceramics. Today, Tomo Museum continues to specialize in presenting works by contemporary ceramists, as well as artists who work in different mediums such as glass, lacquer, metal, and textile.
