Artists Shogo Shimizu, Yuhei Kobayashi, and Yuumi Takamizawa have opened 4649 (foursixfournine/yonrokuyonkyu) in Sugamo, as a project to replace the artist-run space Workstation, which had been operating in Suginami since 2015. The gallery space will be co-located with XYZ Collective, an artist-run space, and will alternate exhibitions with XYZ.
Like Workstation, 4649 will organize exhibitions by the artists who run it, as well as exhibitions by local and international artists based on their interests.
