Tokyo Station Gallery

Museum in The Ginza, Marunouchi area

Recently renovated in 2012 the Tokyo Station Marunouchi Building is a magnificent red-brick building dating from 1914, and just a short walk from the Imperial Palace in the heart of Tokyo. With Tokyo station serving as a transport hub to regions across Japan, while also having been witness to key events through modern history, it may be said that geographically and historically this station is at the heart of contemporary Japan.  It is within such a context that the Tokyo Station Gallery was established on the principle of elevating the Station above the mere status of a pivot of logistics towards a center offering a glimpse into the cultures of both Japan and the world.
