Fujishiro's beautiful works, which contrast black with vivid colours, are both modern and fantastical, drawing both adults and children into the fairy tale world of elves.
This exhibition presents 150 works from the artist's own collection, ranging from paintings made in the period immediately after the Second World War up to the newest works he has made recently. The lighting in the exhibition space has been set up in such a way as to facilitate the viewing of the artist's "shadow paintings" which cannot be fully experienced in books or film.
