Artists

Mitsumasa Anno
Book maker, painter and illustrator, Mitsumasa Anno is an artist who continues to work across a wide field. His delicate, smoked colored paintings are particularly revered, having gained acclaim not only in Japan but also internationally, having received the Hans Christian Andersen Award amongst others and being recognized for his services in culture in 2012. On the occasion of his production of a book for the royal family, he was given access to the private imperial gardens across the span of one year to make various studies. The results of this are shown across 130 watercolor works of flora and fauna shifting through the four seasons with his minute touch of expression.
