M.C. Escher: A Magician of Perspective

Sogo Museum of Art
Finished

Artists

Maurits Cornelis Escher
Stairs going endlessly up and down, rustic landscapes that shift suddenly from day to night. Maurits Cornelis Escher has been called a “magician of perspective” for the exceptional worlds of condensed depth, time, and distance in his prints that still astonish with the mental precision of their designs, created in a time before computers. Some 100 prints from the Huis Ten Bosch museum from early through late in Escher’s career tell his full story as an artist. Also enjoy a corner with sculptures and video inviting visitors into to Escher’s mysterious world.
