Artists

Hiroshi Noda
This exhibition features Hiroshi Noda's large 284.2cm x 696.8cm work, "Shinsen-numa - Dedicated to Masao Hoki," which depicts the nature and mysteries of the mountainous hills of Niseko, western Hokkaido, and which took around six years to complete. This work will be exhibited in Gallery 3. The hope was that this work would be completed during the lifetime of Masao Hoki, the founder of the Hoki Art Museum, who passed away on June 10, 2021. This work depicts life and death found in the magnificent and harsh nature of Hokkaido, where Noda has his studio. This large-scale work will be exhibited alongside Hiroshi Noda's “Souten," which depicts the eruption of Mount Usu in Hokkaido.
