Nakanoshima Museum of Art, Osaka
Finished

Artists

Amedeo Modigliani
Born in Italy, Amedeo Modigliani (1884 - 1920) moved to France and worked with Picasso and Tsuguharu Foujita as a member of the Ecole de Paris. Based on the solid painting techniques he had learned in his native country, Modigliani established a unique style in Paris, the capital of art, and painted many portraits during his lifetime. Modigliani's portraits, with their almond-shaped eyes and elongated necks, sharply capture the inner essence of the subject. He painted vigorously until his death at the age of only 35, and his work is still loved all over the world. This exhibition traces the trajectory of Modigliani's artistic development, focusing on work from both domestic and international collections, and shows the new trends and diverse artistic fields that developed in Paris during the same period.
