Artists

Junko Oki
This is the first solo exhibition at the museum for Junko Oki (1963- ), who creates unique work using the embroidery technique. Oki taught herself to embroider with a thread left by her mother, and after embroidering clothing, bags, and other items in her early years, in recent years she has expanded her work beyond the realm of painting and sculpture, showing her works energetically in Japan and abroad. This exhibition will show the full range of Oki's creative process through rare early work, representative embroidered work, new work, and installations.
