This exhibition introduces two popular printmaking movements that developed in postwar Japan: the "postwar printmaking movement" and the "educational printmaking movement". The works created by these movements are inscribed with a wish for peace, a focus on society, work in factories and farmhouses, and a real sense of life in the countryside and city. The exhibition features approximately 400 works and materials and aims to shed light on the unknown history, as well as, reveal "another Japan" that lies alongside postwar growth and changes.
