Giko Hayakawa "Symphony of Colors"

Shimodate Museum of Art
Finished

Artists

Giko Hayakawa
Giko Hayakawa (1936-2012), a Western-style painter based mainly in Kashiwa, Chiba, portrayed fantastical and impressionistic landscapes. Influenced by a passion for classical music, Hayakawa's artworks are like poetic symphonies, vivid with colors. The museum hosted the "Nostalgia and Fantasy: Giko Hayakawa" special exhibition in 2007, resulting in a generous donation of Hayakawa's works from the artist's family. This exhibition reveals these donated pieces for the first time.
