Marie Laurencin
Paris in the 1920s, sandwiched between two world wars, was a miraculous place where various talent crossed genres and produced exceptional work. The success of women, in particular, was remarkable, and Marie Laurencin and Coco Chanel, both born in 1883, were representative of the women who lived in the inter-war era of freedom.

Laurencin pursued feminine beauty while Chanel incorporated materials from men's clothing and sportswear into women's clothing. This exhibition focuses on the activities of these two women who lived at the crossroads of art and fashion, while also touching on their relationships with people who colored the times, such as Paul Poiret, Jean Cocteau, Man Ray, and Madeleine Vionnet, who made full use of beautiful bias cuts, to present an overview of the art world in Paris between the two world wars, where modernity and classicism were exquisitely fused.

The exhibition will feature a lineup of approximately 100 pieces from domestic and international collections, including the Musée de l'Orangerie and the Musée Marie Laurencin.
