Yuzo Saeki
The short but vivid life of Yuzo Saeki (1898 - 1928), a painter who lived in Osaka, Tokyo, and Paris, ended about 100 years ago. In particular, he painted several cityscapes after returning to Japan for a short period. In particular, the series of Parisian landscapes with delicate, dancing lines that he achieved during his second visit to France, after a brief return to Japan, is synonymous with the artist, and his unparalleled individuality continues to fascinate many people today. This exhibition focuses on three of Saeki's cities - Osaka, Tokyo, and Paris - and examines the process by which the artist achieved his own expression.

The exhibition brings together representative works from the Nakanoshima Museum of Art, Osaka's Yuzo Saeki Collection, which is one of the largest in quality and quantity. This exhibition, the first major retrospective of Yuzo Saeki's work in 15 years, will provide an opportunity to rediscover the appeal of Saeki's art.
