Sense - Akio Suzuki and Hiromi Miyakita's Way of Being

Tottori Prefectural Museum
Finished

Artists

Akio Suzuki, Hiromi Miyakita
In preparation for the establishment of the "Art Learning Lab (A.L.L.)" to support "learning through art" at the Tottori Prefectural Museum of Art, which will open in the spring of 2025, the museum is conducting practical research on ways to increase opportunities for children to encounter artworks and artists, measures for cooperation between the museum and schools, and educational outreach programs inside and outside the museum.

As part of these efforts, the "Creating Opportunities for Art" series, launched in 2019, has attempted to create opportunities for children and people of all ages to encounter a wide variety of art. This year, the fourth installment of the series will feature installations by sound artist Akio Suzuki and dancer/artist Hiromi Miyakita for Tottori. Live performances by both artists, whose expressive activities are based on sound, dance, and other forms of physical expression, will also be held to provide a diverse viewing experience.
