Nelo Akamatsu, Genki Isayama, Eriko Inazaki, Ken Kitano, Takeshi Honda
The "Takamatsu Contemporary Art Annual" introduces unique and outstanding artists. This year's exhibition themed "Fragile - Secret Landscapes," will explore the appeal of "fragile" expression through the work of five up-and-coming artists. Nelo Akamatsu (born in Tokyo) uses various techniques, including installation, to scoop up the rhythms that secretly pulse in nature and daily life. Genki Isayama (b. 1987, Oita) uses video and installations to express the transformation of matter through uncontrollable events, with "collapse and replication" as the keywords. Eriko Inazaki (b. 1972, Hyogo) continues to expand the possibilities of ceramic art through her unique technique of firing countless combinations of fine clay parts. Ken Kitano (b. 1968, Tokyo) uses photography to express a vision of humans and the universe that transcends human vision. And Takeshi Honda (b. 1958, Yamaguchi), based in Tono, Iwate Prefecture, creates detailed charcoal pencil and oil paintings of landscapes in the mountains and his garden.
