The National Museum of Japanese History, nicknamed "Rekihaku," opened in March 1983, and is a historical museum that comprehensively researches and exhibits Japanese history and culture. The theme of the museum is the history of Japan from prehistory and antiquity to the present day, and the folk world of the Japanese people.
