Gallery Koyanagi opened in Ginza in 1995.
The gallery deals with domestic and international contemporary artists such as Hiroshi Sugimoto, Sophie Calle, Marlene Dumas, Christian Marclay, Michael Borremans, Mark Manders, Thomas Ruf, Etsuhiro Suda, and Sukuimo.
The gallery's predecessor was the Kyobashi Kangyo factory, which was established in 1852, and the pottery section of the factory continued as Koyanagi Shoten during the Meiji, Taisho, and Showa periods. In 2016, a gallery space designed by Hiroshi Sugimoto was reopened on the 9th floor of the same building.
The gallery is also involved in commission work projects in support of artists.
