Ugo is a new art space created by renovating a 60-year-old wooden apartment building that had fell into ruin. Shinokubo, is a place where diverse nationalities and cultures intersect, artists such as Arata Isomura, Rintaro Umino, Michelle Ceja, Ching Chuan Kou, Michael Rikio Ming Hee Ho, Nanan Furuya, Nimyu, Sareena Sattapon, Moeka Sakuma, Kenshou Nihara, Ippei Nakao, Pani Pani Pani Pani Tomochinpa, Karyu Miyoshi, and an atelier, gallery, bar, and accommodations by Elliott Jun Wright (accommodations delayed due to COVID-19). We will transmit the pluralistic power of Shinokubo for the sake of art and for the area where diverse cultures gather. The entire team is working hard to make Shinokubo a "hangout" that respects diversity for a new era.
