Gallery Yamaguchi Kunst-Bau

Gallery Yamaguchi was established in 1981 and has focused to artists who have few opportunities to be introduced in Japan. We introduced mainly minimalist artists from Japan and abroad, such as Donald Judd, Dan Flavin mid-career Japanese, Korean and European artists. We also organizes and cooperates with exhibitions at museums outside of the gallery such as major exhibitions include "Donald Judd" at the Museum of Modern Art, Shizuoka in 1992, "Donald Judd" at Kitakyushu Municipal Museum of Art in 1993, "Kuwayama Tadaaki Project '96" at Chiba City Museum of Art and Kawamura Memorial Museum of Art in 1996, "Donald Judd Retrospective" at the Museum of Modern Art, Saitama and the Museum of Modern Art, Shiga in 2001, and "Donald Judd Prints" at Itami City Museum of Art in 2001. After then, we have cooperated in the exhibitions of Tadaaki Kuwayama at Nagoya City Museum of Art in 2010, 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa, The National Museum of Art, Osaka in 2011, and The Museum of Modern Art, Hayama in 2012. We also involved in publishing catalogs for the artists and work on the installation of art in public facilities and the permanent installation of art in architectural spaces in cooperation with architects.
