Collection of the Sato Museum of Art - The Living Creatures within Art
Ends in 13 days
Closed Today (Monday)
Paintings depict a variety of subjects, including beautiful people, landscapes, and flowers. This exhibition focuses on paintings in which living creatures appear. Some are animals, some are insects. Sometimes they are imaginary creatures. And the creatures appear in a variety of ways. They may be depicted in the center of the screen as the main characters, or they may be depicted in a small supporting role as one of the elements that make up the scene. Either way, the shapes and colors of the creatures play an important role as icons of familiarity in the world of the work.
