The National Museum of Japanese History, nicknamed "Rekihaku," opened in March 1983, and is a historical museum that comprehensively researches and exhibits Japanese history and culture. The theme of the museum is the history of Japan from prehistory and antiquity to the present day, and the folk world of the Japanese people. In addition to actual materials, the museum actively incorporates precise reproductions and academically proven reconstructed models so that anyone can easily deepen their understanding of Japanese history and culture.
