Abashiri Museum of Art

Abashiri Museum of Art was established in 1972 after Tatsuo Miyagawa, an art collector from Abashiri city, donated 38 paintings of Kaichi Igushi. It is the second and first newly built museum in Hokkaido. The collection features the works of Kaichi Igushi and other painters of the Okhotsk region or associated with Abashiri. The museum also holds a variety of special exhibitions to introduce the works of contemporary artists.
