Art in the Office 2010

The Art in the Office project sees an artwork displayed in the press room of the Marunouchi offices of Monex, Inc. for one year. Not only is this a form of CSR for the securities company, it is also a way of changing office and work methodology through contemporary art, and expanding the reach and appreciation of art beyond the usual visitors to galleries.

This year saw the highest number of applicants — over one hundred — and the winner was Shusaku Nakata. His work ‘1000s’ is a panorama 2D work filled with photos and images of figures that Nakata drew over the top of, attempting to create a sense of the unseen everyday connections around us.
