CLAMP Manga Stars Gather at the National Art Center, Tokyo this Summer

The National Art Center, Tokyo, will hold the "CLAMP Exhibition" from July 3 to September 23, 2024.

CLAMP is a creative collective of four women creating diverse manga in a variety of genres, including boys’, girls’, and young men’s comics. Clamp was formed in the mid-1980s and began creating original manga in 1987. Notable works include X (1992), Magic Knight Rayearth (1993), Cardcaptor Sakura (1996), Chobits (2000), xxxHOLiC (2003), and Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle (2003). Celebrating the 35th debut anniversary, a large-scale exhibition of original artwork will be held at The National Art Center, Tokyo, tracing the collective's creative activities and worldview. The exhibition will run from July 3 to September 23, 2024.

This exhibition will feature well-known characters and 5 themes linked to the collective's name:

"C" for Color.  CLAMP colors the world.
"L" for Love.  CLAMP draws the form of love.
"A" for Adventure. CLAMP weaves stories of adventure.
"M" for Magic.  CLAMP works magic on the world.
"P" for Phrase.  CLAMP spins phrases.
