Van Gogh Alive, produced by Grande Experiences, has traveled to 99 cities and attracted over 9 million visitors worldwide. Now, it is finally landing in Tokyo, the 100th city to host the event. The exhibition is scheduled to be held at the Warehouse Terrada G1 Building from January 6 to March 31, 2024. However, this is not the first time the immersive Van Gogh exhibition has visited Japan - the exhibition has previously been held in Nagoya (December 10 - March 5, 2022) and Kobe (March 18 - June 4, 2023), welcoming approximately 340,000 visitors.

Van Gogh Alive is a new and immersive experience featuring powerful projections of various large-scale Van Gogh artworks on expansive dark walls and floors in a vast exhibition space, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the artwork using all five senses. Viewers are taken on a journey through the life of the world’s most famous painter, traveling to places like the Netherlands, Paris, Arles, Saint-Rémy, and Auvers-sur-Oise.

The combination of the latest technology of multi-channel motion graphics, cinema-quality surround sound, and high-definition projectors allows visitors to explore every corner of the artwork from any angle without a predetermined route. But the experience only begins here. A unique fragrance mechanism recreates the warm feeling of the French countryside, enhancing the experience and bringing Van Gogh’s work to life through all five senses.

Through the abundant images and words of Van Gogh himself, visitors can also learn about the artist’s life, art, and historical background. In contrast to the more conventional way of looking at a painting, why not take this opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of art through light, color, and sound?
