"Wind Speed 0" Exhibition

Radium von Roentgenwerke AG
Finished

Artists

Koichiro Kutsuna
The core element in this series of photographic works by Koichiro Kutsuna taken near airports can be attributed to its title, "Wind Speed 0."

Wind is generated by uneven heating of the Earth’s surface, resulting in a difference in barometric pressure between two air masses. Thus, "Wind Speed 0" refers to a condition where air temperature is even, resulting in no movement in the air. What we see in Kutsuna’s photographs are airplane traces that lead us toward an unknown world of excitement and inorganic constructions which seem to be left behind on the ground.
