Cy Twombly(1928-2011)is known for his masterly paintings of energy which recall the appearance of sketches and scribbles, whilst being underlined by a distinct concern for Greek and Roman mythology. Realizing the ambitious ceiling painting at the Louvre in his last years, his work continues to impact upon the art of the 21st century.
