Kentaro Shimizu “Descendants of Babel”

Hideharu Fukasaku Gallery Yokohama
Finished

Artists

Kentaro Shimizu
In recent years, Kentaro Shimizu has been working on the motif of the Tower of Babel, which is mentioned in the Old Testament.
After the Flood, human attempted to build a tower high enough to reach the heavens, but God prevented them from doing so, and humanity was scattered all around the world. In this story, which warns us against overconfidence, Shimizu sees people struggling to reach the ideal tower while bearing both hope and sorrow. This exhibition will feature his most recent works.
