Pastoral Redemption, Glimpses of Perfection: André Bauchant + Foujita Ryuji

Tokyo Station Gallery
Finished

Artists

André Bauchant, Ryuji Foujita
André Bauchant (1873-1958) and Ryuji Foujita (1928-2002) were active in different regions and eras: Europe and Japan, the first and second halves of the 20th century. Yet they both depicted idyllic, paradisiacal landscapes with a love for nature. Their works, full of longing for a world where people and nature live in harmony, remind us of the joy of viewing paintings, of immersing ourselves in a world that celebrates color and shape. A total of 114 works, including representative works by both artists, will be on display.
