Okuda Genso Sayume Art Museum is named after Japanese painter Genso Okuda and doll artist Sayume Okuda. The museum resonates with the different art styles of two-dimensional Japanese painting and three-dimensional dolls. It also aims to reflect the nature and art of Miyoshi City, and serves as a center for the promotion of art and artistic culture.
Throughout the years, Genso Okuda sketched in the midst of nature in dialogue with the landscape, expressing seasonal changes. On the other hand, using human figures to convey emotions, Sayume Okuda explores themes such as coexistence with nature and mother-child affection. Through the donation of their works, a long-held dream of the couple - which was to create a museum where their works are carefully preserved to prevent loss or destruction - was realized in their hometown, Miyoshi City.
