Italy has many "cultural heritage sites", and "the 14th century frescoes in Padua" were recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2021. Italian Renaissance art began with Padova's Giotto (Scrovegni Chapel). Northern Italy has become a center of art with the activities of numerous artists up to the present day, and the Venezia Biennale Exhibition, which has been held from 1895 to the present, is known as one of the world's leading art exhibitions.
The purpose of this exhibition is to introduce in Japan the works of Northern Italian artists who have studied the excellent Italian art of the past and have built their own world of expression, trusting in their own sensibilities and using unique and free methods in Italy, a country with such a wonderful artistic history.
