At Home with Gustavsberg

Shizuoka City Museum of Art
Starts 6/27
Gustavsberg, established in 1825 in south-eastern Sweden, remains one of the leading Scandinavian porcelain manufacturers and is still producing in the same location. Its tableware, born from a rich relationship between the industry and designers’ free creativity, has accompanied and added color to people’s daily lives. This exhibition centres on works by four iconic designers from the Gustavsberg factory: Wilhelm KÅGE, Stig LINDBERG, Lisa LARSON, and Karin BJÖRQUIST. Through approximately 300 works from the collection of the Nationalmuseum, Sweden’s museum of art and design, the show explores the enduring history and charm of Gustavsberg, whose creations continue to be loved to this day.
