TOKYO, JAPAN (April 27, 2023) – Bright Moments, a pioneer of in-real-life (IRL) digital art
experiences is expanding its global footprint to Tokyo with a 6-day event that celebrates on-chain generative, AI, and Japanese contemporary art.

Curating iconic, digital art collections in cities around the world, Bright Moments elevates the experience of minting digital art with in-person events. As the seventh city in its global journey, Bright Moments brings its network of artists, collectors, and enthusiasts to Tokyo, while inviting local artists and collectors to join that community.

Organized as a DAO, Bright Moments is composed of and governed by CryptoCitizens, a unique NFT collection created by artist and Bright Moments Creative Director Qian Qian. In each city, 1,000 new Citizens are minted with one third reserved for local community members. CryptoTokyoites will become the seventh CryptoCitizens city collection during the Bright Moments Tokyo event.

Taking place from Friday, May 5th through Wednesday, May 10th, Bright Moments Tokyo is a six-day event celebrating generative, AI, and Japanese contemporary art in the vibrant neighborhood of Shibuya. The event will feature the minting of over 4,000 on-chain artworks at two Shibuya locations, alongside artist sessions, panel discussions, special workshops led by generative artist Matt Deslauriers, and a grand finale party, 'Emergence,' at the renowned Womb nightclub.

“If you ask, ‘Why Tokyo, and why now?’ the answer is ‘A.I.’” said Seth Goldstein, Founder of Bright Moments. “Tokyo has always been at the forefront of innovation in digital media, and, in terms of collectibles, animation, and robotics – it has always been the epicenter. There’s no better time and no better place for this convergence of art, technology, and immersion.”

The Tokyo Collection will be minted and exhibited at the Kyu Asakura House, a traditional Japanese house and tea garden that harmoniously blends art and nature. The exhibition will be open for public viewing on May 9th and 10th.

The AI Collection, CryptoTokyoites, and Japanese Contemporary Collection will be minted and exhibited at Digital Garage, situated in Shibuya's Parco Building. This unique display will feature immersive and dynamic experiences, showcasing the creative processes of various artists as they generate their works live. The exhibition will be open to the public from May 5th through 8th.

On May 10th, 'Emergence,' a one-night celebration of Bright Moments Tokyo, will captivate audiences with a spectacular display of over 4,000 generative art and AI NFTs, brought to life on stage by an incredible lineup of DJs and performers at the iconic Womb nightclub in the heart of Shibuya.

Bright Moments leaves an enduring global impact by establishing physical galleries in each visited city, which continue to host art events, meetups, and immersive experiences. Tokyo will soon welcome a local gallery following the completion of the Bright Moments Tokyo events.
