The title of Kinan Art Week 2023 is "Mikankaku." "Mikankaku" is a word that combines the words mikan (mandarin orange, unfinished...) and kansei (sense, interval...), which means to take the time to unravel the various senses that humans possess, especially those other than sight. It is said that 90% of the information that humans obtain relies on visual information, and art is considered to be largely visual expression.
This year's exhibition will not be an "exhibition" of artwork, but rather a workshop that appeals to the senses of smell, taste, and touch, as well as to the sense of time.
