Finished

Artists

Makoto Wada
Widely known as an illustrator and graphic designer, Makoto Wada (1936-2019) was active in a variety of genres as a binding artist, film director, essayist, composer, animator, and art director. This exhibition is the first retrospective of Wada's work since his death, which provides a complete picture of his vast and diverse work. The exhibition was realized through Wada's work for a company in Okayama and his participation in exhibitions planned by the museum during his lifetime. The exhibition introduces the designs that symbolize the Showa and Heisei eras, and the appeal of designs that transcend time and attract people's attention.
