‘space III’ is the opening that 目[mé] has created within SKAC: a space that exists within the city while opening one's awareness beyond it. More than a physical space, it is a place from which to temporarily step back from the roles, systems, and speed of urban life, while remaining grounded within the reality of the city. It is also a gap through which the city can be looked at anew. To see and to step outside, to be inside while imagining the outside.
By making this movement possible, the work creates a space for reflection between different positions and perspectives. In dialogue with SKWAT's interventions into VOID and its efforts to reframe their value, as well as with SKAC as an extension of that practice, space III creates room for new perspectives to emerge. This open space continues to question and reconsider the relationship between the city and ourselves.
