Mitsuhiko Imamori continues to convey the interaction between nature and people through beautiful imagery and accessible writing, from tropical rainforests and deserts to domestic natural environments.
Imamori, captivated by the ecology and beauty of insects from a young age, has energetically conducted research worldwide in pursuit of insects. His works, which are based on a unique perspective on nature not bound by traditional ecological photography, have garnered high praise domestically and internationally. Furthermore, he has continued to capture the space known as "satoyama," focusing on the area around his hometown of Lake Biwa, and visualizing the satoyama produced by the exquisite balance between nature and humanity. This exhibition, the latest installment in a series, showcases selected works from over 200 satoyama locations across Japan that Imamura has encountered.
Imamori's journeys through satoyama vividly bring to light spaces where nature and people harmonize, allowing us to appreciate the beautiful and diverse nature of this country. Anticipate "Satoyama," where the entirety of Mitushiko Imamori's life's work, the Satoyama series, will be unveiled.
