Filipa Tojal
Filipa Tojal is a Portuguese artist who predominantly works within the realm of painting, particularly focusing on the concept of landscape. Currently, back in Portugal, the artist lived and studied in Japan for 4 years. In a continuous return to this place that greatly influences her artistic practice, her latest works reflect on overlay and continuity, as well as transparency and opacity. This exhibition, titled "不透明な青" (Futoumei na ao), which can be translated as "Opaque Blue," presents a narrative of paintings and pictorial objects, using predominantly paper and mineral pigments, materials clearly influenced by her time spent in the East.

Filipa Tojal is a visual artist. Currently residing in Portugal, between Porto and the Algarve. She completed her undergraduate degree in Fine Arts at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Porto (Portugal) and obtained a master's degree in Painting at Tokyo University of the Arts (Japan), supported by the Monbukagakusho scholarship. She has exhibited her work both solo and collectively around the globe, mainly in Portugal, Japan, Australia, and the United States.
